A short stop in London, some snapshots. The focus mode was wrong on my camera, it was too late when I realized it. Pictures might be soft, however my memory remains clear.
Approaching UK. There is near shore wind farm, visually spectacular, seen from above.
Thames River. Old glories and new proud flooding onto my face.
A restaurant called The Shakespeare. The Germans have a saying "Du bist was Du ißt", meaning "You are what you eat".
A newly built building on Buckingham Road, with interesting facade.
An interesting car, very British shape.
Royal Mews Shop.
Victoria Memorial in twilight.
Queen Elizabeth II Centre.
Methodist Central Hall.
Big Ben. Bright moon shining through piled cloud.
I did not want to walk too long in the chilly winter evening, went back to my hotel through the Victoria street. There are quite a few East Asian restaurants in the Victoria street. I was delighted.
The Victoria street has just experienced some large-scale modernization in the recent years. A large part of the street is in a contemporary architectural style. However I found such a red telephone booth in a side street. Oh nostalgic and surreal!
Beautiful light from the Buckingham Gate in the evening. Futuristic as a whole.
Buckingham Gate 的灯光很美丽。
Cardinal Place in evening, with charm of the lights.
夜色中的 Cardinal Place。
Right opposite to this bold contemporary building, there is a fruit stand!
The building at the cross of Buckingham road and Victoria street was formerly the hall of Victoria Railway Station. Now it is a hotel. Staff there are very friendly.
There is a Chinese restaurant "Grand Imperial" in this building. They serve Cantonese dishes, also dishes of Shanghai style. The interior of this Chinese restaurant is very elegant, as well as the dress and manner of the staff. A very decent place.
旅馆的一楼，是一间名为 “喜粤” 的中餐馆，英文名 Grand Imperial。主营广东菜，也有上海菜。员工大多是中国人，能讲纯正广东话，普通话和上海话。
And their food is just authentic, beautiful and tasty. A perfect warm up for my soul, in this chilly winter evening.
